I’m teacher Megan and I am a licensed professional teacher and an ESL teacher with a TEFL certificate which means I can teach kids, teenagers, young professionals, and even adults. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education majoring in English and General Science and a licensed teacher since 2009. I have been teaching English as a second language to foreign students for 8 years which includes IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC, Callan Lessons, Business English, and Career Lessons to students of all levels of learners from Beginners to Advance. The most satisfying accomplishment from this career was when you could help them reach their target scores in IELTS, or pass the EIKEN and TOEFL tests. I’ve been teaching English for 10 years and my passion is to encourage my students to use English every day not just in our class but also at home with their families, at school with their classmates, in the playground with their friends, and wherever they go. Learning is not only knowledge but application. If this also becomes your habit, you will see how fast you have improved. Of course, our class will be fun and engaging. You would be excited to participate and talk about anything with me under the sun. You don’t need to worry about our cultural differences because I am flexible and love other cultures. My grandparents have both Spanish blood, they are half Spanish and half Filipino. Therefore I believe it will not be hard to share our common cultures and beliefs. My childhood was immersed with foreign missionaries from Australia and America in our church. They became my first informal English teachers since I’m a toddler. This made me more interested in teaching foreign students, aside from the excitement I can get from sharing new cultures with them. Honestly, you will never be fluent by listening all day long to the lectures of your teachers. That is why I encourage my students to speak their minds and never be ashamed of making mistakes.
