Present Continuous Tense:is/are being + past participle

Somebody is painting the door.

The door is being painted.

1.My car is at the garage. It is being repaired. (= somebody is repairing it)

2.Some new houses are being built across from the park. (= somebody is building them)

1.The office is being cleaned right now.

The office is cleaned every day.

2.In the United States, football games are usually played on weekends, but no big games are being played next weekend.

Somebody has painting the door.

The door has been painted.

1.My wallet has been stolen. (= somebody has stolen it)

2.My keys have been stolen. (= somebody has stolen them)

3.I’m not going to the club. I haven’t been invited. (= nobody has invited me)

4.Has this shirt been washed? (= has somebody washed it?)

PASSIVE VOICE:Present perfect tense V.S. Simple past tense

1.The room isn’t dirty any more. It has been cleaned.

  The room was cleaned yesterday.

2.I can’t find my keys. I think they’ve been stolen.

  My keys were stolen yesterday.
