I am Chevy Bless Separes. I have been teaching English as a part-time tutor for 13 years. My students are mostly Koreans and Chinese. Most of them are kids but some of them are high school students and adults. I teach phonics, pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary. However, some of my adult students enrolled to prepare for their English exams and, in some cases, to prepare for their interviews in going to English-speaking countries. My first English teaching experience was in an offline setting. It’s an in-person, one-on-one English class with university students who prepare for their interview before going to Australia. Eventually, I conducted online classes with younger students as well. For me, teachings kids is more difficult and challenging but I have learned the skills of handling them in a way that they will enjoy while learning. I enjoyed seeing them develop their English communication skills as they move up each year. It is very fulfilling to see them grow up and observe how their English communication skills have improved through time. I had a private student who had class with me when she was an elementary student. Last December, she had class with me again to prepare for her interview before going to the US as an exchange university student. Seeing their growth gives me fulfillment as a teacher.
